Why does Kinship host activities

Kinship hosts group mentoring activity throughout the year. These activities are planned to provide an opportunity for all Kinkids (matched or unmatched) and volunteers to get together and to enjoy conversation, constructive interaction and fellowship. Kinship sponsored activities are an excellent way for our matches to share experiences together, along with other Kinship matches. Unmatched Kinkids and volunteers benefit from the activities as they are "matched up" just for that activity; benefiting from their temporary friendship.

Activities have a wide variety of topics, and are either educational, recreational or community-service oriented (or a combination). A few examples include canoeing, fishing, baking Christmas goodies, going to a baseball game and a Veterans Program. Below are pictures highlighting Kinship's recent group mentoring activities.

Who can attend?

Kinship group activities are open only to Kinship youth and screened adult volunteers unless otherwise stated, providing a positive mentoring experience for all.

Adults interested in becoming a group mentor at Kinship activities must complete the same screening process as our 1:1 & family mentors.

(Bus from Historic Courthouse)

We will be taking a bus from Kinship to Northland Kart Kounty. You will be able to go cart, bouncy thing, batting cages, mini golf, etc. Pizza dinner will be provided as well.

Fall Fun at the Farm

Monday, October 5

4:30 - 7:30

(Bus from Historic Courthouse)

We will taking a bus from Kinship to this great fall destination by Royalton. The group will go on a hayride, pick your own pumpkin in the field, explore a petting zoo, farm playground, hay slides and more. Dinner will be provided as well.

Soup & Chili Cookoff Fundraiser

Monday, October 19

5:00 - 7:00 PM

Falls Ballroom

This is Kinship's largest annual fundraiser and promotional event. We need volunteer help prior to the Cook-off (selling tickets, securing donations, making baskets, etc.), early the day of (starting at 10 am), during the Cook-off and afterwards for cleanup. This is great opportunity for matches to volunteer together!

Volunteer & Donor Appreciation Night

6:00 - 8:00 PM

Cary's on the Course (LF Golf Course)

This event is focused on showing our appreciation to Kinship volunteers, donors & guests. It will include dinner and a program. NOTE: Even though this is on the same night as the "Casual Social Gathering" registration is separate.

Historic Courthouse

This is a hands-on Christmas gift, craft, card & ornament making night. We are in need of great ideas and volunteers. LMK if you are interested. NOTE: Kinship will cover the cost of supplies, so be creative.
